Black with Colours: an exhibition of works by Peter Clarke

Taken from his family with the Gunditjamara people at two months of age, and raised in orphanages until he was 17. Peter's interest in art comes from a personal journey through childhood to man.
Inspired by the radiant blues, reds, yellows, pinks and purples reflected on the orphanage's church floor as morning sunlight streamed through the huge leadlight windows, Peter describes his work as his "own path to land, country and water"
His paintings out shine the darkness of a stolen history, their vibrancy celebrating a triumph of spirit, for all those to see and admire. |
