Melbourne Library Service offers services and collections in Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean, Hindi and Spanish.

City Library offers collections in Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean and Hindi. 

East Melbourne offers collections in Chinese and Vietnamese.

 

North Melbourne offers collections in Chinese and Spanish.

Titles by original authors and translated versions of English works.

Non-fiction
Titles covering various subjects such as cooking, biographies and health.

Magazines & Newspapers
Melbourne Library Service provides a large number of LOTE (Languages other than English) magazines and newspapers. Chinese newspapers are available to read in the library at all locations of Melbourne Library Service and are available from the Circulation Desk. The magazine collection ranges from current affairs and politics to computing, family health and teenage magazines.

 

Children's materials
A range of junior fiction and non-fiction books as well as CDs and DVDs are avaialble for children.
City Library has a collection of bilingual Chinese/English and Vietnamese/English children’s books. East Melbourne library has a significant bilingual picture book collection with titles in a range of languages.

 

Music
Melbourne Library Service has a large collection of recordings of popular and traditional Chinese, Vietnamese and Indonesian music on CD.

 

DVDs and VCDs
Melbourne Library Service has a significant collection of LOTE DVDs and VCDs. We are constantly sourcing new Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Hindi titles.
