North Melbourne Library Facilities Upgrade
Work commences on Tuesday 24 June to replace the current elevator and completely upgrade the accessible toilet at North Melbourne Library to bring them up to the DDA standard.
The works will take approximately 8 weeks to complete and will result in some disruption to service and additional noise.
The elevator will not be available at all during this time and the accessible toilet will be out of service for much of this time.
Some activities, such as Preschool story times will be held in nearby facilities.
Most work will take place early in the morning and stop by early afternoon. Access to the library will be restricted by building works and legislated safety requirements.
A dedicated notice board in the library foyer will provide regular updates to our customers.
Melbourne Library Service apologises for the short notice - we have been planning this for some time and have a small window of opportunity to secure a highly reputable contractor to carry out the works. |
