FAQs regarding wireless internet at MLS
What is the wireless internet I am looking for? The wireless service is called “Unwired Free Internet”
How do I connect? Click on the “Wireless Networks Found” icon on your laptop or PDA, Select “Unwired Free Internet” from the list and open your browser.
Do I need a password? No, when you open your browser the starting page will require you to answer a couple of questions and agree to terms and conditions.
Do I have to do this every time I connect? No, you will only receive the starting page once a day.
I have selected “Unwired Free Internet” from the list but my browser does not connect. Why not? If you have used other wireless internet services you must ensure these are completely shutdown and/or disabled.
I have disabled all wireless connections and I still cannot connect. You may need to disable your antivirus software and any firewalls you have operating on your device. With these disabled try to connect again, once connection is established you can reactivate all antivirus and firewalls.
When is the wireless network available? The wireless network is available seven days a week between 7am and 7pm.
Why is my wireless connection so slow? The wireless service receives its signal through the mobile phone towers. If there is a lot of phone activity and/or a lot of people logged on in the library this can affect the speed of the service. Try moving to another location (City and North only). Alternatively shutdown and wait for a short time then reconnect.
